‘No Plan To Attack Moslems In Rivers’
The Rivers State Muslim Community says it is not aware of plans by anybody to attack Muslims in the State.
The Sarkin Housawa of Port Harcourt and Chairman, Arewa Council of Chiefs South South Zone, Alhaji Isa Madaki who said this during a special prayer organised by the Community for Nigeria described the honour as the handiwork of evil minded persons who are bent on tarnishing the good and excitement relationship between the people of Rivers State and Muslim brothers.
Alhaji Madaki said that in line with koranic injunction muslims in the state will continue to remain peaceful and law-abiding. Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Diobu Central Mosque Port Harcourt, Alhaji Abdul Salum Arikewusola, denounced the Boko Haram activities as the Northern part of the country as unislamic and evil.
Alhaji Arikewusola said that the holy Korean forbids muslims from taking peoples lives and urged members of the sect to stop hiding under the banner of religion to perpetrate violence.
He said that the special prayers was to call for divine intervention on the affairs of the nation. Also speaking, the Sarkin Malamai of Rivers State and Legal Adviser Northern Forum South-South Zone, Alhaji Halliru Imam said that both Islam and Christianity are the same since they worship the same God.
He also warned the Boko Haram sect to leave Islam alone.
