OBALGA Boss Presents Cars To Council Officials
The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Prince Timothy Nsirim, has presented brand new cars to four principal officers of the local government council to ease their mobility with a charge to them to always be punctual to their duty posts.
Presenting the cars at Rumuodomaya, headquarters of the local government on Wednesday, Nsirim said the gesture was part of the plans of his administration to empower the staff of the council.
He also announced that plans were underway to provide a luxury bus to workers of the council to check lateness to work, saying, providing a conducive working environment for the staff of the local government was a top priority of his administration.
The council boss further disclosed that all offices of the local government were provided with computers, stressing that plans to connect the offices to the website had been concluded.
He said to actualise his administration’s vision of making all the staff of the local government council computer literate, the local government would soon commence the training of the council workers.
The council officers presented with cars include the Secretary of the local government, Hon. Precious Ikezam, Leader of the Legislative Assembly, Hon. Henry Odum, Director of Finance, Mr Friday Bemah and the Head of the Local Government, Prince Simeon Winrie.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Prince Timothy Nsirim, has charged members of the public and corporate organisations to always forward their building plans and designs to the council for proper evaluation and quantification by the council’s engineers.
Nsirim who gave the charge at Rumuodomaya, on Wednesday while parading a fake engineer, one Engineer Abba, said the activities of fake revenue agents and building plans designers had denied the council of the much-needed revenue to embark on development projects.
He alleged that the verification team of the local government council had arrested the fake engineer in the bush with building plans bearing the council’s logo, forged signatures, fake receipts and stamps of the council.
The council chairman noted that activities of fake building agents and engineers had been responsible for the spate of buildings collapse in parts of the country, and assured that the culprit would be handed over to the police for prosecution.
