NURTW Boss Hails Members For Support
The Abali Motor Park Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Rivers State, Chief Bethel Dappa, has commended members of the union for their unflinching support, saying, he would continue to cater for their welfare.
Dappa who made the commendation in a chat with The Tide in Port Harcourt expressed delight for successfully piloting the affairs of the union without stepping on the toes of members or offending them in a particular manner for the period he had been leading the union.
He also expressed joy that the members had never complained about his leadership style, as he had been carrying them along as well as giving their welfare priority attention.
The NURTW boss noted that he had been operating an open-door-policy, stressing that the union under his leadership had recorded tremendous achievements particularly in the area of fostering unity, cohesion and harmony among members.
He said the Abali Motor Park chapter of NURTW had, therefore, become a force to reckon with, as the union had never been bedeviled by rancour and acrimony.
While soliciting for continuous support from members, Dappa assured that he would not let them down, and thanked them for their show of love towards him.
He also thanked the chairman of the state Local Government Service Commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini for supporting the union at all times, saying, as fiends, they would continue to work together to improve the welfare of members of the union.
Dappa equally commended the chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon, Chimbiko Akarolo for fencing Abali Motor Park in Port Harcourt, saying, the gesture had improved the security situation of the motor park, stressing, however, that the motor park needed only two gates instead of the current four.
He also decried a situation where traders had taken over a section of the motor park, saying, it was the only motor park in the state where traders were given unfettered access.
Dappa, therefore, appealed to the authorities of the Port Harcourt City Council to act fast and check the ugly trend.
