According to Governor Dickson, the willingness of the state government to develop other sectors of the economy. has earned the state respect from international investors and thanked the people and government of Korea for their kind gesture.
In his response, the chief representative of the Korean Agency in Nigeria, Jung Sang Hoon, said “the five (5) 300 gramme per hour millers worth over N70 million were donated in view of the devastating effects of the flood that must have damaged the existing rice milling machines in the state.”
He assured the government of at least one year guaranty for the equipment as well as the provision of spare parts. It could be recalled that three years, similar donations were made by the Korean Government and personnel provided to assist the state in rice production.
However, the equipment were abandoned and the personnel withdrawn when the Bayelsa Government under Chief Timipre Sylva failed to fulfilled its obligations of counter funding.
