Imoke Swears-In New SSG
The Cross River State
Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, has sworn-in the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Tom Ogar, charging him to live above board and render selfless service to the people of the State.
The new SSG was until his new appointment the Special Adviser on Due Process and Price Intelligence in the State.
According to him, Cross Riverians deserved better service especially as the administration is gradually winding up and that the people need to really feel its impact and have their lives transformed for better.
While urging him to rise to the responsibility of his new office without fear or favour, Imoke stated, “we believe that you have the capacity to carry out this responsibility with all sense of duty and commitment. As an administration, we try to put square pegs in square holes in ensuring only the best is brought forward for any position of authority.”
“For you to be identified as Secretary to the State Government, we strongly believe that you will justify the confidence reposed in you through your dedication, hard work and commitment to the wellbeing of the administration.
“Being a member of the state executive council for the past seven years, you are in a better position to discharge your duties diligently in spite of the fact that there is a transition and I charge you to man the office satisfactorily,” Imoke said.
Responding, the new SSG said he was pleasantly surprised by his new appointment stating that, “I feel highly honoured by this appointment. I will try my best. With God on our side, we will be able to achieve the set objective and mandate of the office of the Secretary to the State Government.”
Oga however assured Cross Riverians that he “will try my best to apply a whole lot of integrity, transparency and openness in our daily dealings.”
