Aviation Industry Records Improvement In Airlines Performance
The Ministry of Aviation
has said that the country’s aviation industry recorded tremendous improvement in airlines performance in February 2015 .
. This is contained in the Airline Performance Report, made available to newsmen by the Ministry’s Assistant Director of Press, Mr James Odaudu, in Abuja .
. The report said that eight airlines were involved in flight operations in the country within the period under review.
The airlines, according to the report, are First Nation, Dana Air, Arik Air, Air Peace, Overland Airways, Aero Contractors, Medview and Azman Airline.
The report said that a total of 7,058 flight operations were carried out in February, of which 2,140 flights were on-time, 3,528 delayed and 1,392 cancelled.
The breakdown showed that First Nation Airways had 215 flights of which 121 flights were on- time flights, 89 delayed and five cancelled during the period.
It also showed that Dana Air had 458 flights of which 244 were on-time, 192 delayed and 22 cancelled, while Arik Air had 2,383 flights with 1,010 on-time, 1,262 delayed and 111 cancelled flights.
Air Peace, according to the report, had 863 flights of which 192 were on-time, 259 delayed and 412 cancelled while Overland had 468 flights with 101 on-time, 219 delayed and 148 cancelled.
Aero had 1,741 flights of which 354 on-time, 1,034 delayed and 353 cancelled while Medview had 432 flights with 84 on-time, 265 delayed and 83 cancelled flights during the period.
