The Rivers District Superintendent of Assemblies of God Nigeria Dr. Daddy Ibulubo who spoke to The Tide on the sideline of the victory of the State Governor, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at the Supreme Court, also commended the All Progressives Congress in the state for accepting the verdict of the apex court in Nigeria.
Dr. Ibulubo said the action of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside portended a good omen for the nation’s nascent democracy, and called on other politicians to borrow a leaf from him.
The District Superintendent said the era when politics is played with bitterness rancor, turbulence and denting of images should be consigned to history, stating that such actions do not show any sign of maturity on the part of those who play politics.
According to the man of God, politics is an act of governance that thrives on persuasion rather than coercion and intimidation and urged politicians to play politics according to the dictates of the game as evident in civilized times.
He called on the opposition parties to bury the hatchet, close ranks and support the Governor Wike-led state government so as to restore the state to its pride of place in the comity of states.
Dr. Ibulubo, who is a management scholar described leadership as collective responsibility, noting the success of the present administration was a collective responsibility of the generally of the people of the state.
He commended Governor Wike for his victory at the Supreme Court and described it as a “testimony and testimonial” of divine and the people’s mandate.
According to the church leader who superintends all Assemblies of God Churches n Okrika, and part of Kalabari Communities, “we being a Christian Faith Beieve that God makes leaders, He brings down one and lifts up another and He gives power to whom He graciously wants to give power, even the least qualified”.
He urged the governor to ensure that the sense of maturity and commitment to infrastructural development which he had deployed into governance was sustained in the interest of the state.
