Obuah Condoles PDP Scribe Over Mum’s Death
The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commiserated with the family of the State Secretary of the party, Mr Samuel Okpoko, on the demise of his mother, late Mrs Patience Aduko Johnson Okpoko, who passed on August 16, 2018, at the age of 73.
The state Chairman of the party, Bro Felix Obuah, who led a delegation of the State Working Committee of the party to the Okpoko family in Port Harcourt, urged the family to take heart as death was a necessary end for all mortals.
Obuah said the party deemed it expedient to visit the state PDP secretary as a member of one PDP large family, adding that whatsoever befalls a member affects every other member.
The state PDP chairman urged Mr Okpoko to take solace in the fact that his late mother lived above the biblical age of three scores, and further urged him to be comforted by the fact that his mother lived and left a good legacy for those she left behind.
He assured that the party would stand by him in this moment of grief, and further pledged to give him all the support he needed to give her a befitting burial.
In his response, the state PDP Secretary, Samuel Okpoko, expressed gratitude to Obuah and the State Working Committee for the visit, adding that words cannot sufficiently express how he felt by their words of consolation.
“From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate your show of love. This visit is coming for the second time as the State Working Committee had visited us just two days after the death of my mother. May God visit the party and our dynamic chairman in a special way”, he prayed.
“I want to particularly thank our Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah, who personally prayed for my mother shortly before her demise. I count it an honour and commend his fatherly disposition towards us all”, he said.
