Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has been described as an icon of peace, unity and love especially to non-indigenes resident in the state .Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has been described as an icon of peace, unity and love especially to non-indigenes resident in the state .
A former Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences at the Rivers State University (RSU), Prof.Adolphus Toby made this disclosure in an interview with journalists last Wednesday.
Toby said non-indigenes of the state enjoy cordial relationship with Rivers State, stressing that the Governor remains a father and everything to the non-indigenes in the state without reservation.
He said the Governor demonstrated this by delegating functions to the leadership of non-indigenes representing him at various functions which he said had never happened before now.
Prof Toby described Governor Nyesom Wike as a God-sent leader who shuns tribalism and listens to the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
The Professor of Corporate Finance of the University, therefore, called on non-indigenes to fervently commit the Governor and his government in prayers for God’s divine direction, wisdom, strength, success and longer life throughout the four years of this administration.
He noted that non-indigenes have huge investments and also contributed towards the development of the state, adding that the Governor’s vision of transforming the state ought to be part of them as it would change their lives.
Prof. Toby recalled that “the success story in Rivers State under Governor Wike in the last four years is enormous. He started from a humble beginning; he said noting that the Wike-led government, which had faced multiple obstacles, was able to thrive on the wisdom and faithfulness of God. He called on all and sundry, including the non-indigenes to support the Governor in order to build better bridges of development in the state for posterity.
The university don, further, enjoined all the non-indigenes in the state to live in peace, harmony and unity with one another with a view to assisting the government in tackling the insecurity plaguing the state.
