Commissioner Hails Wike Over Road Completion, Unveiling
The Rivers State Commissioner for Housing, Hon Chinedu Tasie, says the completion of the Rumuji-Ibaa-Obele-Isiokpo Road will boost the economy of the state.
Tasie, who said this during the commissioning of the road by Governor Wike also commended the governor for his development strides across the state.
According to the commissioner, the people of that part of the state will remain grateful to Governor Wike for remembering them.
The commissioner said the people-oriented projects of Governor Wike in the state were unprecedented, adding that people of the State were fortunate to have him at the helm of affairs at this time.
Tasie said with the commissioning of the road his people who are predominantly farmers can now transport their goods to the urban areas thereby making life meaningful to them.
He said land in the area would appreciate beyond imagination, saying that in the past, life had been unbearable for his people following the deplorable condition of the road.
“In the past, no human can access the road. The people gave up hope until Governor Wike visited the area during campaign when he promised to award the road.
“Today we are alive to witness the promise fulfilled by Chief Nyesom Wike.
“The large turn-out by the people is a testimony to the historic commissioning of Rumuji-Ibaa-Obele-Isiokpo road. The people of the affected communities shall continue to show appreciation to the governor, as well as give him maximum support in his future aspirations”.
He said the peace achieved in the various communities was added advantage for investors to come to the area.
Tasie said the timely commissioning of the road project had proved critics wrong that the governor has been siting projects in Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City only.
