Board Moves To Reposition Entertainment Industry
The Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB), says it plans to reposition the entertainment industry for utmost revenue generation.
Its Executive Secretary, Mrs Adebukola Agbaminoja, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Lagos.
Agbaminoja said that repositioning the industry was important to also enable the sector generate enough
employment opportunities for the creative talents.
According to her, the LSFVSB stakeholders conference holding in Lagos on Tuesday will assist in evaluating ways the industry can be repositioned.
She said the theme of the conference is: “Content Development as a Driver for Sustainable Growth in the Film and Video Industry.”
“The conference is organised in pursuant to the state government’s commitment to reposition the entertainment sector to fulfil its potential as a primary revenue generator and employer of creative talents,” she said.
According to her, the forum will also facilitate the positive collaboration of all stakeholders to chart a way forward for the industry.
She said it was vital for the film and video industry to support the efforts of the present administration in the tourism and entertainment sector.
“Lagos State Government is committed to utilising creative arts of which film and video are germane as tools for economic growth and development in the state.
“We, therefore, must project contents that mirror our desired goals,” Agbaminoja said.
The executive secretary noted that the conference would explore the potential in content delivery as a tool for catalysing indigenous film-making capacity development.
“ The Stakeholders’ Conference is a bridge-building initiative to facilitate interaction with stakeholders on content delivery that will improve the industry and socio-economic growth of the state. “
Speakers at the event will include Prof. Sola Fosudo, Head of Department, Theatre Arts and Music, Lagos State University; Mr Mahmood Ali-Balogun, Chairman, Audio-Visual Rights Society of Nigeria.
Others are Mr Femi Odugbemi, Founder, Zuri24 Media Lagos; Dr Shaibu Husseini, Cultural Administrator, Film and Media Specialist and Mrs Anthonia Oredipe, of the Directorate of Citizens’ Right, Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
Popular businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has said that his relationship with singer Davido is beyond money and gossip.
He stated this in a recent interview with BBC Igbo.
“Davido is my friend. He is my in-law; he married Chioma who is from Imo State where I hail from.
“So the relationship I have with Davido is beyond money and gossip,” he said.
DAILY POST reports that Chief Priest disclosed via his Instagram page that his outfit for the wedding of the singer, Davido and his wife, Chioma, in Lagos on Tuesday cost seven million Naira.
The socialite recently appreciated Davido for not “discarding” Chioma.

Famous Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido was spotted among other top artistes at Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour concert in Atlanta, Georgia.
Asake’s performance at his sold-out show at the 17,000-capacity State Farm Arena in Atlanta began on August 16, 2024, and is set to run for 10 days.
In a trending video on social media, Davido appeared backstage with American rapper Quavo to support Asake during the live performance.
Other musicians in attendance included Nigerian hitmaker Zlatan and American rapper Russ Millions.
The Tide’s source reports that Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour is set to cover six U.S. cities, where he will headline notable venues including Madison Square Garden in New York, the Toyota Center in Houston, and the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Asake’s tour comes just days after the release of his latest hit, ‘Lungu Boy,’ which features several superstars, including Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, Travis Scott and Brazilian singer Ludmilla.
‘Lungu Boy’ set a new record for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria, garnering 18.9 million streams in its opening week and breaking the previous record of 14.4 million streams held by Davido’s ‘Timeless.’
