Don’t Indulge In Unproductive Ventures, LG Boss Urges Corps Members

The Executive Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Council of Rivers State, Rt Hon Enyiada Cookey-Gam, has admonished youth corps members sent to the local government not to indulge in any unproductive ventures that will negatively affect them in the society in course of carrying out their primary assignment.
Cookey-Gam while receiving members of Batch B, Stream 1 corps members deployed to the LGA through his vice, Hon Angela Oju-Kienmie in Opobo Town recently assured them of the administration’s willingness to support them by providing good accommodation, better welfare incentives and other necessary support to make their stay in the area profitable.
He warned them against any act capable of destabilising their stay in the area and to report at all times whatever that bothers them in their place of primary assignment and assured of the council’s readiness to put smiles on their faces.
It would be recalled that early in the month, the council boss, met with the Batch A corps members deployed to the local government, where he affirmed the support of the council to issues bordering on their welfare while in the course of service in the area, saying that a planned reception will soon be organised for them.
The chairman, however, thanked God for their safe arrival, and prayed for divine guidance for them throughout their stay in the LGA.
Meanwhile, Rt Hon Enyiada Cookey-Gam has stressed the need to encourage any corp member that discharges his or her duties effectively, noting that his government will not hesitate in providing better reward for such an individual, but cautioned against negative dispositions and activities that will not speak well of their stay in the place of their primary assignment.
He further emphasised that Opobo/Nkoro being a peaceful LGA will give them total hospitality and good security system, where their lives and properties are safe, which he said remained the key to the cordial relationship between the people and the corps members posted to the area for posterity.
