Bow Out Of Governance In Shame, Ex-Chairman Urges APC
The former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Davis Ikeanya, has urged the APC- led Federal government to bow out of Governance in shame for its inability to pilot the affairs of the country well.
He said that the ruling APC has not only failed completely and totally, but has failed the nation, as well as themselves in all ramifications.
Ikeanya, who disclosed this to newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, shortly on arrival from Abuja on Wednesday, noted that the economy of Nigeria was in shambles, and that people were very very poor as businesses were no longer working.
“ I just think and propose that they should bow their heads out in shame and stay away from politics. They should allow genuine Nigerians that have what it takes to come and fix this country they have bastardised.
“ They should stop these spending of public funds to organise any type of convention, because there is nothing they can do right.
“ Now, there is no fuel to run vehicles. Somebody will import adulterated fuel to sell in a country like this? People that are in-charge of the NNPC are still running their mouth?
“ They are also saying that they want to import more, and are mentioning billions upon billions of naira, and no one has been held to account for these?
“ They are all accomplices in this fuel matter, and so, who will arrest who, and who among them can say I am a saint”, Ikeanya queried.
On the clamour for the next governor to come from the riverine, the former APC chairman said that his stake was that a credible Rivers’-born who will develop the state can be governor, irrespective of the origin.
According to him, any governor that comes on board has a programme and areas of priority to focus, making it impossible for any governor to satisfy everybody.
“ As far as I am concerned, governor Wike has done very well. He may not have satisfied everybody, but he has defended the pride of Rivers people in this country,
“ It is not even true that if a riverine governor comes, he will develop the riverine, my take is a governor that will develop and protect Rivers State”, he said.
