Activist Advises Buhari To Resign Over Failed Economy

Published

on

An Activist in Rivers State, Idawari Brown, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign now.
Brown said the call became necessary following the president’s incompetence in governance that had brought hardship upon Nigerians currently.
Speaking with journalists recently in Port Harcourt, Brown described President Buhari’s leadership pattern as a plot to attract sympathy from Nigerians and a make believe tactics to get soft landing from angry Nigerians unhappy with his performance.
He explained that Buhari has already admitted to his failure on the eve of 2019 general elections, in the hope that millions of Nigerian electorate, whom he had subjected to poverty and hardship will give him a clap offering for failing woefully.
“The economy has totally collapsed under his watch and he admitted in recent times that he had no idea on how to fix it and that is the rationale behind his summoning of governors to bail him out. This is unbelievable, sad and unacceptable because President Muhammadu Buhari has run out of time and the expectations of Nigerians are a leadership which has the political will, administrative acumen and refined economic prowess to get Nigeria bounce back again “, he said.
Brown, a freedom fighter averred: “However, President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed what we have known all these while; that he wrecked our once known robust and sustainable economy, that he has no way out of the challenges facing our country and that the situation can only get worse under his administration.
“ The Buhari Presidency has continued to increase its expensive running cost and has failed to offer explanations and recover the trillions of naira he allegedly waisted from our oil sector by APC interests, yet Mr President is asking the people to contribute more,” he said.
He further said that, “ except those in the leadership of APC and the party’s supporters are as normal, suffering from some self delusion, it does not make sense for them to say that the the APC-led government has brought relief and good tidings to the indigent Nigerians when President Buhari admitted to the governors that the economy has gone out of his control”.
Brown, therefore called on the All Progressive Congress (APC) to apologize to Nigerians for the party’s failed leadership since 2015, adding that the hope for better governance and improved living standard that many had nursed with assumption of office of President Buhari in May, 2015 remained a hopeless adventure.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Reports On SOLAD’s Sack

Published

The Rivers State Judiciary has denied claims of media reports online that a judge of its High Court issued a ruling in favour of Governor Siminalayi Fubara against former Governor Nyesom Wike and President Bola Tinubu allegedly sacking the Sole Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd).
A statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the State High Court, David Ihua-Maduenyi, on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, described the purported report as false and misleading, particularly for linking a judge of the State High Court, Justice Boma Diepiri, to a ruling that reportedly came from a Federal High Court.
According to the statement, Justice Diepiri is a Judge of the Rivers State High Court and not of the Federal High Court and currently on Easter vacation, which commenced on Monday, 14th April.
The Chief Registrar further clarified that the Federal High Court and the State High Court are separate entities, stressing that “the inclusion of Justice Diepiri’s name in the fabricated report underscores the crass ignorance of the author”.
The statement, signed by Ihua-Maduenyi, reads in part, “The attention of the Rivers State Judiciary has been drawn to a fake news report alleging that His Lordship, Hon. Justice Boma Diepiri, delivered a judgment sacking the Sole Administrator of Rivers State. This is false in its entirety.
“Justice Diepiri is a judge of the High Court of Rivers State, not of the Federal High Court as was falsely reported.
“Additionally, His Lordship is currently on Easter vacation which began on Monday, April 14, 2025”.
It advised the general public and members of the media to always cross checked information concerning the judiciary before publishing, and disregard the said report in its entirety, saying “its an embodiment of falsehood and fabricated story”.
