Mothers Day:Women Tasked On Virtues Of Godly Motherhood
Christian women have been enjoined to continue to uphold the virtues of good mothers and remain steadfast in the Lord.
The Chairman of the 2022 Mother’s Day celebration of St Peter’s Anglican Church, 50b Hospital Road, Port Harcourt, Mr Francis Ochin Alli, who made the assertion during the service, said the role of women in the church and society can not be over emphasised. He advised them to always remain as true mothers in the divine household of God.
According to him, as mothers, they should preach peaceful co-existence, love and unity amongst all for a better and prosperous society.
Alli also admonished them to pay great attention to the activities of their children and wards by bringing them up in the fear of God, so that when they grow up, they will not depart from the truth, which is the word of God.
The chairman of the day congratulated them on their celebration and described the project being embarked upon by the women of the church as a welcome development that is worthy of commendation and support.
Ochin however, appealed to the men to always encourage their wives in the work of God for abundant blessings. He charged the mothers of the church not to relent in their duties to God and mankind.
Speaking with The Tide on the sidelines of the service, one of the chief launchers of the occasion, Engr. Oriyebaka Jonah, described the celebration as a welcome development for mothers to come together and articulate programmes that would boost their christian faith and duty to God and humanity.
Jonah advised them to be exemplary in all their activities for others to follow their footsteps as mothers of the society, adding that women deserve to be celebrated.
He further appealed to them to keep up the spirit, be a blessing to the church of God and society as well as cherish their roles in the family.
In her sermon, the Guest Preacher, Mrs.Ibiye Alfred Orupabo, who preached on the theme, “Our Help Cometh from the Lord’,’ admonished Christians including the mothers, to focus on God as He is the author and finisher of our faith, stressing that with God, all things are possible.
The occasion witnessed the honouring Of Dr. Golden Dappah and Engr AngaboIruayenama as Fathers of the Day, Mrs. Rosaline Minainyo Ibiene and Mrs. Daizy John as Mothers of the Day, Tamunobelema Onikio (aka Onunu) and Miss Tamunobere Dede as Son of the Day and Daughter of the Day respectively, while Mr.and Mrs. Okosimeka Orupabo, Mr. and Mrs. James Ibunemi and Mr. and Mrs. George Owubokiri were honoured as examplary families.
The Amananyanabo of ancient Ele kingdom in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, king Felix Tamunoseipiriala Okuru, Apina VII, who was the royal father of the day and chief launcher, was represented by the Chairman, Ele Divisional Council of Chiefs, Chief Joseph Oloye Buloabere while intercession prayers were offered for the nation, state, LGA, the families, the women project and the church which culminated into special decoration and presentation to the president of Mothers Union / Women’s Guild, Mrs.Rechael Bamson and wife of the curate, Mrs. Stella Ogbologu.

Rivers CJ To Sanction Lawyers Who Refuse To Comply With ADR Compliance
The Rivers state Chief Judge, Justice SIMONE CHIBUZOR-AMADI has given an indication to sanction any lawyer who fail to comply with directive of a judge in the state to transferred a case to Rivers State Multi Door Courthouse for Alternatives Dispute Resolution.
Justice AMADI stated this during a brief ceremony held at the chief judge auditorium in port Harcourt Friday held to hand over certificates of operation to two private ADR chambers on Precarious Dispute Resolution Services and Harmony Arbitration and mediation center .
He urged the two private ADR centres to be diligent in the discharge of their duties and warned against compromising the standard of Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR but should observed the regulations set out in collaboration regulation by the state Multi Door Court House.
Earlier in a address, the Director of the State Multi Door Courthouse, VICTOR NWEKE esq, highlighted some of the achievements of the Multi Door Courthouse especially in decongestion of court rooms.
NWEKE while disclosing how the department certified the two private ADR centres called for serious punitive measures be taken against any lawyer who fail to comply with a case referred to Multi Door Court House by a judge or magistrates in the state.
In her acceptance speech on behalf of the two certified private ADR centres, ALICE NIMI commended the State Judiciary and Multi Door Courthouse for the approval and assured that all the rules and regulations spelt out will be followed.
In a related development; the Rivers State Judiciary has assured its readiness to collaborate with Nigerian Securityding Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in using Alternative Dispute Resolution to resolve some of the issues in their office.
The state Chief Judge , Justice SIMONE CHIBUZOR-AMADI made the promise when he received in audience the Zonal Commander of NSCDC, Assistant Commandant General, AYINLA TALYE OLOWO and his team who paid him a courtesy visit in his office , Friday where issuees ADR utilization took centre stage.
He used the opportunity to brief his visitors on the hurdles judges faces daily in the court room and the need for the decongestion of the court room , stressing that one judge handle more than three hundred cases but that if lawyers and litigants adopt ADR practice court rooms can be releive of the daily congestions.
The state Chief Judge however urged NSCDC to ensure a wider sensitization of the members of the public on the practice of ADR for a better awareness and knowledge.
Earlier in his speech, the Zonal Commander of NSCDC, Assistant Commandant General, AYINLA TALYE-OLOWO said the visit was to seek collaboration on the use of ADR in resolving some issues which he insisted would help decongest the courtrooms.
Our correspondent reports officials of the Rivers State Multi Door Courthouse led by the Director, VICTOR NWEKE led the team of NSCDC on a technical session where information on how to the fully in cooperated into the Multi Door Courthouse and operation of ADR will be emphasized.
