Cleric Charges Nigerians On 2023 Polls
The International Prelate of Ultimate Priesthood College of Bishops and Apostolic Communion, Archbishop Alex Okubo Eseimokumoh, has called on Nigerians to be careful of the leaders that will be voted in during the forthcoming elections.
This , he said, was necessary in order to avoid the mistakes of the past,
The Archbishop said this during the canonical installation ceremony of Bishop Dr. James Friday Egbe as Arch-Bishop in the College at Home of God Vineyard Mission in Port Harcourt
He urged Christians to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) in order to vote candidates of their choice in the forthcoming elections, adding that it is their fundamental rights.
According to him, any wrong choice we make will eventually affect the nation either positively or negatively in the next four years of the nation.
Archbishop Alex further advised religious leaders to be humble as they are all servants of God, adding that it is God who exalts the humble.
“if you are not humble, you cannot reach anywhere in life. We are all servants of God. Anywhere you find yourself, it is good to be down to earth and let people exalt you and give the glory to God”, he said.
Also speaking, member of the House of Representatives, representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante commended the newly installed Archbishop for his great strides.
“We thank God for calling him to service and sustaining him in the ministry. I pray that the Lord continue to use him as instrument in His hands to reach to the unreached and to help those who need to get closer to God”, he said.
He also advised him to be open to God and to surrender to His will and direction. And that he should continue to be that symbol to God and mankind.
On his part, Egbe thanked God for the privilege to serve in this great capacity while praying for wisdom and knowledge to run the office, adding that he is depending on God to succeed in this new position.
Archbishop Egbe also noted that a lot of leaders in Nigeria today have not recognised God in their offices.
“When they were clamouring for the leadership, you will think they will recognise God if He puts them in that place.
“But the moment they get into office, they no longer remember God and the ministers that prayed them in. I have never seen any leader in the bible that ruled well without a prophet by his side”, he said.
The event was attended by christians from all denominations.
