LG Boss Counts Dividends Of Democracy In Gure Community
The Chairman of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr. Bariere Thomas, has said during his election campaign he assured the people of Gure Community of good governce and dividends of democracy in their community.
According to him, “today the people of the community are enjoying the dividends of democracy”, adding that insecurity that was common in the community has been stopped.
Dr. Thomas said this last Saturday in an exclusive interview with The Tide shortly after the burial of the Paramount Ruler of Gure Community, late Chief Benson Deezua, at the Community Primary School football field.
He described the community as one of the best in the LGA, adding that “late Chief Deezua was a good man and man of peace who lived a life worthy of emulation.
“The paramour ruler of Gure Community was a good man so I am here today to give him farewell.
“He lived a good life so I am happy to honour him because of the legacy he left behind. He was a man of peace,” Thomas said.
He used the medium to call on the youth to go and collect their PVCs, urging them to vote for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the state come 2023 general election.
While noting that the election will give them the opportunity to vote for the right leadership they deserve, he said the PDP has “been able to prove to Khana people that clearly they have a lot of plans for them.
“Come 2023 general election, the youth should all come out with their PVC and cast their vote for PDP in the state.
“We have assured them of good government and delivery of devidents of democracy.
“I assure the people of Khana that when I assume office, we are going to put an end to insecurity and we have done excellently well in that direction.
“Gure Community is a very important community in the LGA just as we assured other communities across the area so we do to Gure Community and today peace as return to area,” he said.
He thanked Dr Moses Neebee, the Community Development Committee (CDC), the Youth and the entire Community for their support to ensure peace returned to the community.
“I want thank one important stakeholder Dr Neebee, the chief’s, CDC, the youth council and the entire Community for their support in bringing back peace we are enjoying today in the area” he stated.
