LG Boss Tasks Contractors On Project Delivery …Decries Poor State Of The Asari-Toru Legislative Assembly Complex
The Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Onengiyeofori George, has urged contractors handling ongoing projects in the LGA to redouble their efforts and meet completion deadline of the last segment as council prepares for commissioning of projects next month.
Hon. George made the call while speaking with newsmen after inspecting the twelve Units of One Bedroom Flats on two suspended floors Council Staff quarters project in Buguma City, headquarters of Asari-Toru Local Government Area.
According to the Chairman, “I have gone round and I am worried. I would urge the contractors to move into site and complete the last segment of the project because we’re ready to commission this project and others, next month”.
He noted that the contractors had reassured him that by next three weeks, they would be completely done on site, adding “so, I am going to hold them to their word”.
Accompanied by some members of the Asari-Toru Legislative Assembly, critical appointees in his cabinet, and structural engineers, the ASALGA Council Boss also inspected the ASALGA Legislative complex in Buguma City.
The Chief Executive, who expressed shock at the poor state of the complex, charged the Ag. Director of Works to immediately coordinate a remodeling design to mitigate the structural failures of the entire complex.
He said, “We as a government will continue to do the best that we can because infrastructural development is a very critical sector for the economy and growth of the LGA, and I think that the contractors will do a good job”.
