According to him, 37 out of 64 impacted sites in the area have so far been successfully remediated and certified by NOSDRA in the ongoing clean-up project.
He further expressed delight that the Buhari administration, which had initiated the process of remediating the polluted environment in Ogoniland in 2016, is part of the process of providing power supply, water supply, health facility and a Centre of Excellence in the area as recommended in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Report.
He stressed that with the execution of such projects as clean-up of some impacted sites, provision of water supply and power supply, the UNEP Report is more than 50 percent implemented under the Buhari administration.
Musa thanked President Buhari for his reappointment as the Director General of NOSDRA, saying, the gesture would propel him and his team to do more for the country and the people.
He expressed joy that he had been part and parcel of the processes of cleaning-up Ogoniland as a former Director of Operations of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP), and also ensuring that the Ogoni environment is actually kept clean through NOSDRA supervision and certification.
