I Acted Within Rumuigbo Constitution, Tradition- Eze Apara
The Eze Oha Apara IV, HM , Eze Chike Worlu-Wodo, of Rumuigbo Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, of Rivers State has justified his crowning of Prof Reginald Amadi as Eze Epera Ekinigbo, saying it was in accordance with the provisions of Rumuigbo Constitution and Tradition.
His response came on the heels of claims and counter claims as to whether he is qualified to carry out the function.
Making the clarification while speaking with newsmen in his palace in Rumuigbo Community, Eze Worlu-Wodo said he acted within the provisions of the Constitution of Rumuigbo which spelt out his functions as a Monarch and other sundry issues in the Community.
The Eze Apara IV, who went down memory lane, recalled how the then Eze Apara Crowned him Eze Epera Ekinigbo in 1996 without any challenge from any quatrer.
He explained that the paramount thing to consider was whether or not to the person so crowned was from the Royal family.
According to him, he was acting on dual capacity as both Eze Ekinigbo, and Eze Oha Apara, until he decided recently to excuse himself of the Eze Ekinigbo responsibilities.
He expressed displeasure over claimants to the Eze Ekinigbo Stool, who, he said, have no nexus to the respected Traditional Stool.
“A second son wants to assume the position of a first son. Eze Epera Ekinigbo is bequeathed to Rumukesiolu as the first son, which the present occupant is a member”, he said.
He further expressed dissatisfaction over the presentation of the purported Eze Ekinigbo to a deity which he said was against the custom and tradition of the people.
The Apara King also called on relevant authorities to check the activities of a certain politician from the area in order to avoid crisis.
According to him, hell may breakloose one day, if urgent steps are not taken to check excesses of the politician who he said has become unbearable.
On the next line of action, he hinted on plans to invoke the gods of the land should the perpetrators remain adamant.
