Group Commends Fubara Over 20,000 Housing Units
A pro-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) group in Rivers State, Ida Obolo Sim Vanguard, has canvassed support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara to enable him develop the State.
The group, which said this at a media briefing in Port Harcourt, also commended the Governor for laying foundation for 20,000 housing units for the low and medium income earners in the State.
It said the situation will solve the housing deficit of Rivers people.
The group further said the situation represents the passion to drive sustainable development in the State, adding that it was another demonstration of the Governor’s passion to drive sustainable development in the state.
According to the group, “the foundation laying ceremony of 20,000 housing units that His Excellency, Governor Siminalaye Fubara, initiated for the low and middle income earners is another demonstration of his passion to drive sustainable development in Rivers state”.
Ida Obolo Sim Vanguard also said the recent demolition of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex will enable the Governor to provide a conducive environment for legislative business in the State, describing it as an indication of consolidation.
It noted that the government’s action was occasioned by the structural defects observed in the complex.
Ida Obolo Sim Vanguard also commended the Governor for making details of the 2024 budget open, stressing that it was an indication of transperancy.
The text for the briefing, which was read by the leader of the organisation, Engr. Kingston Sylvanus, said the group will continue to sensitise Rivers people on the need to give their total support to the Governor.
Also speaking, former Chairman of Andoni Local Government Council, Hon. Isaiah Ogute, said the group will continue to mobilise support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The Coordinator of the group, Chief-elect, Fred Uwuikor Usende, and the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Rivers South East, Chief Mike Amakiri, said the political crisis in the State has no ethnic undertone.
He said all ethnic divides in Rivers State are in support of Governor Fubara.
