Fubara Committed To Wellbeing Of Rivers People – LG Boss
The Chairman, Caretaker Committee (CTC) of Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Brian Gokpa, has said the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara is committed to lifting poor and vulnerable people in State out of poverty with the various policies it has marshalled out.
Gokpa, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the commissioning of the Pressure Swing Absorption Oxygen Plant built by UNICEF at the General Hospital, Ogale, Eleme Local Government Area, also advocated for a strong and autonomous state as panacea for eradicating poverty in Rivers State and Nigeria, generally.
According to Gokpa, the current government under Governor Fubara is working round the clock to create an enabling environment for businesses to grow, especially a microcredit scheme for those at the lower rung of the economic ladder to lift them out of poverty.
On the commissioned Oxygen plant mostly sponsored by UNESCO and other stakeholders for the health need of Rivers people, the Local Government boss narrowed the event down to a better healthy and stable position of Rivers people under the watch of the Governor, who, he said, has come to build lasting health facilities for the health needs of the people.
He described the Governor as, “the beacon of development hope of Rivers people”, and called on the people to rally round the dispensation “for more quality services for better years ahead”.
On the nationwide protest against hunger and bad governance, Gokpa urged the protesters and Rivers people to bear with the dispensation of Presiden Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring that the government is ready to do the needful to revisit the state of the economy for the good of all and sundry.
“I urge protesters nationwide to remain calm as President Tinubu will do the needful to change the state of the nation’s economy, by ensurong food, security, job creation and other desired necessities under government’s Renewed Hope Agenda”, he pleaded.
