Peace, Paramount In Socio-Economic Dev Of Rivers – Fubara
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara says peace is paramount in the social – economic development of the State.
Governor Fubara stated this at Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, during the presentation of cars to CTC members as well as cash gifts to over 170 widows by the CTC chairman.
Represented by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Victor Oko-Jumbo, Governor Fubara said without peace, no meaningful development can take place in any society, adding that peace is needed for investors to invest in the State.
Governor Fubara assured the people of ONELGA that his administration will continue to extend development and dividends of democracy to the area.
Oko- Jumbo hinted that the 10th Assembly under his leadership will use the instrumentality of the legislature to ensure the people get democracy dividends.
He thanked the people for supporting the Governor Fubara’s government.
Earlier, the CTC Chairman, Pastor Princewill Ejekwe said complementing the efforts of the Governor in the empowerment of the people remains his top priority.
He revealed that just two months in office, his administration has been able to pay bursary to ONELGA students and drive away hunger and poverty through empowerment as directed by the Governor.
The ONELGA CTC chairman said medical consultants and personnel had been mobilised to attend to the health needs of the people.
He assured the widows that the empowerment will be a continuous process as they give necessary support to the Governor.
In his remarks, Elder Samuel Ijeoma, Chairman, Rivers State Pension Board expressed immense gratitude to the Governor for his impactful leadership.
Hon Ijeoma, who is leader of the Simplified Movement in ONELGA, described Governor Fubara as the Moses of Rivers State.
He said Governor Fubara was brought by God to take Rivers State to the promised land, stressing that since Governor Fubara came on board, pensioners have been receiving their pension and gratuity starting from their month of retirement.
“Since Governor Fubara assumed office, we have a new policy where retirees start earning their pension and gratuity starting from the month their services end. We have never had it like this before. It is a new dawn. It is a new season. We give glory to God for the good things He is using Governor Fubara to achieve in Rivers State. I urge you to continue to pray for him to enable him continue to deliver and take us to a new level”, he said.
