ONELGA BOSS ADVICE YOUTHS ON PEACEFUL PATH
The Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) Hon. Isaac Umejuru has called on the youths of the area to support the Rivers State Government led by Sir Siminialayi Fubara.
He expressed joy over the peaceful disposition been demonstrated by the youths in the midst of political crisis in ONELGA, and pledged to support youths of the area at anytime.
Hon. Umejuru said this when ONELGA drawn from six zones in the area stage a solidarity march in support of former Governor of the State Dr. Peter Odilli following the recent insult by the immediate past Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike and Bro Felix Obuah who is an indigene of ONELGA.
The chairman noted with displeasure and condemned the actions of Bro. Obuah who was a beneficiary of Dr. Odili.
“I strongly condemned the embarrassment on the former Governor Dr. Peter Odili, the worst was that it came from someone who is from same LGA and a beneficiary to Dr. Odili.
“It is sad that some politicians can go to any length to please their paymasters.
Sincerely seeing this crowd I am overwhelmed by the level of support our youths can give to their own in a time like this .
“The truth remains that if you have not done this today I would have been wondering if we are still in ONELGA. I stand with you anytime, anyday.
“ONELGA youths are peace loving ,but we can’t take nonsense from anybody or group no matter how highly placed”, he said.
Earlier one of the leaders and secretary to the youth council, Amb Ambrose Okpor Sopuruchukwu request Bro Obuah to apologise to Dr. Odili for the insult.
” We are not happy at all over the repeated insult on the former golden governor by the likes of Obauh ,Wike and their cohorts ,saying if the Council fail to do something they will be compelled to occupy the streets”, he said.
