A frontline political analyst in Rivers State, Alesta Wilcox, has expressed disappointment with the development record of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
\nIn a recent interview with newsmen, Wilcox acknowledged that there were some projects undertaken during Wike\u2019s tenure that were not impactful and sustainable.
\nWilcox argued that Wike\u2019s projects were more focused on \u201cshowy infrastructure\u201d than making meaningful improvements on the lives of Rivers State residents.
\nAccording to him, \u201cThe only notable development in recent years was the legacy project initiated by Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi\u2019s government, which had a direct positive impact on the people.
\nIn contrast, Wilcox believes that Wike\u2019s projects, including the \u201cconstruction of 13 bridges within a small area of Port Harcourt and Obio\/Akpor Local Government Areas (LGAs) do not constitute sensible and reasonable development\u201d.
\nHe said, \u201cWe have been robbed of quality development, not that there was no development.
\n\u201cApart from Amaechi\u2019s government that instituted what you can see as a legacy project that touches people directly, from Wike, I can\u2019t point out any serious thing that Wike did.
\n\u201cHowever, people are saying he built bridges. Upon that, his bridges, I mean, I know that within the space of Port Harcourt City and Obio\/Akpor LGAs, about 13 bridges were built\u201d.
\nFurthermore, he said, \u201cthat cannot be called a sensible and reasonable development\u201d.
\nWilcox urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara not to go back in his quest to probe governance in the state as he stated recently.<\/p>\n
