\nHarcourt ended the first stanza of the 2014 professional women football league with a lone goal victory against Amazones at the weekend.
\nThe match which was played at the Liberation Stadium saw the Angels beating the Amazones.
\nWith the victory, the Angels would maintain their top position on the league table pending the commencement of the second round of the competition.
\nThe assistant coach of the team, Whyte Ogbondah expressed satisfaction over the performance of the players in the first stanza adding that, the team would not relent in its performance.
\nHe said that the team was set to secure the league title and Women FA Cup this season.
\nIt would be recalled that the Angels are leading with 24 points from 10 matches played so far in the first round of the tournament.
\nHowever, the team has promised to sustain their performance, when the second comes up in two weeks time.
\n\u201cThough we are on recess now, but we pledge to put smiles on faces of our fans and the Rivers people this season,\u201d Captain\u00a0 of the team, Lucky Atu, said.<\/p>\n
